About Deliveroo
Deliveroo is an on-demand delivery service that started with restaurant food and takeaways and has grown into much more. Alongside meals from local favourites and big chains, you can order groceries, pharmacy items, gifts and retail goods, with speedy grocery delivery through Hop. There’s also Deliveroo for Work and gift cards if you’re sorting food for a team or treating someone else.
Delivery fees are shown before you check out and depend on the restaurant and how far away it is — a delivery fee, sometimes an extended delivery fee for partners further out, a service fee, and a small-order fee if you’re under the restaurant’s minimum. You can track your order live in the app or on the website. And because it’s food delivery, there’s no returns process as such: if something’s wrong with your order, you sort it through Order Help. Deliveroo Plus is the membership worth knowing about. Silver is only available through partnerships — Amazon Prime and Blue Light Card members get 12 months free, and selected students too — and it waives delivery fees on restaurant orders over £15 and retail orders over £25, plus Plus Rewards. Gold is open to everyone, with free delivery fees on restaurant orders over £10 and grocery or retail orders over £15; the price varies by customer at £4.99 or £7.99 a month, or £79.90 a year. Diamond is invite-only. Eligible customers can try Plus free, and there’s a 14-day cooling-off refund if you change your mind.
How to save at Deliveroo
- Try Deliveroo Plus free first — eligible customers get a free trial on monthly or annual plans, so you can see whether the waived delivery fees pay for themselves before you commit.
- If you already have Amazon Prime or a Blue Light Card, claim Plus Silver free for 12 months instead of paying for Gold — same free delivery fees on restaurant orders over £15.
- Stick with the same restaurant and let Plus Rewards build up — the more you order from one place, the more you’re rewarded.
- Check the fees shown before checkout and, where you can, nudge your basket over the free-delivery threshold rather than paying a small-order fee on top.
How to use a Deliveroo code

Deliveroo FAQs
Does Deliveroo offer a free trial of Deliveroo Plus?
Yes — eligible customers can try Deliveroo Plus free on a monthly or annual plan. If you decide it’s not for you, there’s a 14-day cooling-off period with a refund.
How do I get Deliveroo Plus Silver free?
Plus Silver isn’t sold directly — it comes through partnerships. Amazon Prime members and Blue Light Card holders get 12 months free, and selected students can get it free too. It waives delivery fees on restaurant orders over £15 and retail orders over £25.
What fees will I pay on a Deliveroo order?
It depends on the restaurant and the distance. You’ll see a delivery fee, sometimes an extended delivery fee, a service fee, and a small-order fee if you’re below the restaurant’s minimum — all shown before you check out, so there are no surprises at the end.
